Spaceship Dedication

This past week saw the loss of both Ralph McQuarrie and Moebius. So Colin Geller and I decided to paint some spaceships as a dedication to them. I copied two things constantly in my drawings as a kid: Star Wars and Heavy Metal Magazine. The work of these two men did not only influence us but are often the main reason we are in this industry in the first place.

I will be featured in a series of online Concept Design workshops with (CGMW) CG Master Workshops. I will be doing a Character Design for Games workshop on Sunday Sept, 12. The workshop is only $25 and will be streamed and available the entire day for 24hrs. I will also be doing a 1hr live QandA the same day. James Paick (Naughty Dog),Nico Marlet (Dreamworks), Anthony Francisco (Project Offset) ,KeKai Kotaki (NCsoft), Patrick Faulwetter (Gotachman), and Peter Han (Trion Network) will also be doing some workshops throughout the month of Sept-Oct. For some reason I cant stop drawing space suits. Maybe it's cause i wanted to work on Deadspace or the new Alien movie. There is a powered exo-frame attached to the suit for lifting heavy objects or high gravity environments.

Teaching again this summer

I'll be teaching Entertainment Projects which is basically an advanced concept art class at CDA again this summer. Register early as there are only 15 spots open. I keep the classes small so that everyone gets individual attention.

I do a bit of historical fencing so I decided to design a padded fencing doublet for myself to use during practice.
